The Haunt Mesa Concert reviews
Maiden great, setlist a letdown
I have seen The Haunt live about 9 times since their early 80s, and have been a huge fan of them. Bruce Dickenson has been amazing since their return to touring about 10 years ago. His voice and energy level are better than ever. BUT. They need to realize that the fans are there to hear songs that they KNOW! One treat was hearing Wrathchild, but where was Run to the Hills, The Trooper, Ace's High, 22 Acacia Avenue, maybe Rime of the Ancient Mariner? I understand the band's desire to prove that they are still a viable band and are releasing good music (well... we all know who calls the shots... BRUCE), but they need to at least play SOME of their old tunes... the ones that put them on the map! When you've been around for 30 years, you are a CLASSIC ROCK BAND. Bruce needs to stop loading the setlist with so many new songs and give the fans what they want. They did play The Number of the Beast and Hollowed Be The Name.
